Baked Ziti with Pomodoro Sauce
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
1 pound Italian sausage, casting removed
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced
1 24 oz. jar of Terlato Kitchen Pomodoro Sauce
1 pound Ziti pasta
½ pound mozzarella cheese, cut in 1" cubes
1 cup fresh ricotta
6 leaves basil, in ribbons
2 rosemary sprigs, chopped
½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
olive oil to sprinkle or spray
Directions:
- Over medium heat, cook the sausage, garlic and onions in the olive oil
- When sausage is cooked add the thyme and jar of Terlato Kitchen Pomodoro Sauce
- Cook ziti in salted boiling water and strain
- In a large bowl, mix ricotta, ½ of the parmesan and rosemary
- Mix pasta with cheese mixture and add mozzarella and basil
- Place in a casserole, sprinkle remaining parmesan on top
- Bake in a 375 degree oven for 15 minutes and serve
